Litter PIck Event – Adopt-A-Highway
April 12, 2025

During the April 12 two-mile Adopt-A-Highway litter pick-up event along 775 at Eagle Creek, some crazy things were found. The Employees and Friends of 181 Auto and Wilson County Beautification Association members picked up 13 bags of litter in 2 miles! They found an old, warped 78 LP record, a complete snake skin, an important piece of mail, which they delivered to the owner, one old croc, and parts of an old dresser. When finished, 181 Auto provided the volunteers with trays of fresh fruit!
Quotes from some of the volunteers:
“I really appreciate the people who come out to pick up litter!”
“People who litter do not love nature.”
“Littering is trashy.”
“Many hands make the job lighter.”
“People should take the trash out of their truck bed so it doesn’t blow out onto the road.”

A super big thank you to volunteers, Steffinie Blankenship Mannifield, Steven and Sheila Whitcher, Wilson County Judge Jared Shaw, Donna Skloss, & Elaine Stephens.
